When I got my own dog, I was so focused on her needs that I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. That led me to start dog walking. It wasn’t long before I noticed something: many of the people relying on dog walkers didn’t feel confident handling or training their dogs. They loved their pets but didn’t know where to begin.
That’s when I realised I could do more than just walk dogs - I could help them.
At the same time, I joined a local dog training club with my own dog. Watching her learn, navigate challenges, and respond to training was an incredible experience. It wasn’t just about the commands - it was about the bond we were building. I wanted to help other people experience that same connection with their dogs.
For me, training is about more than just ticking off commands like "sit" or "stay." It’s about building a balanced, supportive relationship between dog and owner. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions or shaming anyone for where they’re at. Instead, I meet you where you are, helping you understand your dog, your role in their behaviour, and how to work together in a way that feels right for both of you.
I know what it’s like to have challenges with your dog. At one point my own dog struggled with things like reactivity to certain breeds of dog, motorbikes and anxiety in certain situations.
So I’ve had those moments of frustration where I’ve missed her signals or felt like giving up. But those experiences taught me that understanding and patience are everything. Therefore, I bring that same empathy and approach to every session I do.
My love for animals has always been part of who I am, but the journey to building my business has been shaped by something more: a deep interest in human psychology and how it connects to our relationships with our pets. This is why I focus on creating a partnership between you and your dog, balancing their needs with yours. I’ve spent over nine years working professionally with dogs and their owners, and I’m committed to staying at the top of my game. I engage in regular Continued Professional Development, hold certifications as a trainer, and am working toward becoming a credentialed behaviourist. I’m also an ICF-recognised life coach and take a neurodiverse-friendly approach to my work.
